Adults love drinking milk

I have just finished reading Kara Brown's rant against milk (how much of it is serious, how much is tongue-in-cheek, I leave to your discretion). She presents her arguments clearly and dogmatically, but once you sift through them, there's really not much left. Basically it boils down to this: 60% of the world's population is lactose-intolerant. So what? I belong to the other 40%; should I stop drinking milk because 60% of my fellow-human beings can't digest it properly? Where is the logic in that?

So, here goes a light-hearted rant against the rant. I highlight every "point" she makes, and present my counterpoint.
Fact: Milk is for babies and children.
Counter-fact: just slapping the label "fact" on to something doesn't make it a fact, Kara! Now here's a fact for you: 90% of Northern European adults are able to digest milk (according to ABC news). I am Northern European; I can digest milk; ergo, milk is for me.
Point: No other species can digest milk after babyhood.
Counterpoint: I belong to the human species, so I'm not really interested in what other species can (or can't) digest!
Point: Babies drink milk because they can't digest anything else and they need to fatten up and get nutrition somehow.
Counterpoint: I'm not a baby; what works (or doesn't) for babies has no influence on the question at hand, which is whether adults can (or should) drink milk!
Point: You can get calcium from plenty of other foods.
Counterpoint: I don't drink because of it's calcium benefits, but simply because I like it!
Point: It's gross.
Counterpoint: What can I say? You're really grasping at straws here, Kara. Why on Earth do you consider milk "gross"? Because it's "thick, cloudy water", as you wrote? Because it's white? Because ... you've no real arguments against it?

So, my dear Kara, I will now allow you to thank me for removing the guilt from your conscience. Drink away, and enjoy it. Like everything else, don't overdo it, but don't stress out over it.

Cheers.
